Arthur - - - Weasley

This is Arthur Weasley, a character that Molly and I are desperate to have, as he’s quite a massive feature in her life. Bit of a low-down on him - He has a love for all things Muggle (people and objects), he’s rather friendly (although not outgoing) and has quite a playful streak.

As far as his history with Molly goes, they met on the train on their first day and became friends, until they began dating on the quiet in 4th year. Their relationship had a massive blip around early November (7th year) when he took a rash move and proposed, and Molly refused, but they’re trying to build the relationship back up now.

Obviously this isn’t an extensive description of him by any means, I’ve tried to leave it as open as possible so whoever takes him can fully stamp themselves on his character.

Hey hey guys! Long time no hear, huh?

There’s a LOT that has been going on over at Tongues of the Weak, including a major cosmetic change! Don’t be surprised if you don’t recognize TotW right now. ;] We’ve just had our first skin change, to honor the movement into February 1977! Be sure to check the Daily Prophet so you know what’s been going on in the world! Seems there’s been some attacks lately, and political unrest seems to be boiling up in a frenzy. Oh no!

We’ve just completed an activity check a week or so ago, so check around for available canons. Remember, TotW allows and encourages competition! We’ve quite a few character requests, so if you’re not sure who to take or you’re looking to join, please check here!

We still EAGERLY seek a Regulus Black and Lucius Malfoy. Many of our wanted characters have sub-plots of their own, if the other sub-plots don’t appeal to you or you’re looking to get involved with an active mini-plot!

And while we’re on the topic of characters, did you know? TotW is now accepting original adults characters! You may not create an original for students, though. We are currrently seeking young adults and are in the process of creating some new canons and sub-plots for them, so watch this spot if you’re interested! (However, feel free to go ahead and make an original if you so desire! Political involvements is encouraged!)

A few of the rules have recently changed, so even long standing members are encouraged to review them for a refresher!

There’s a lot of changes and a lot going on, but just take a deep breath and surf around the site. Remember, because it’s now FEBRUARY all JANUARY threads need to be moved to the Elsewhere forum. Please PM an Admin if you have any threads that need to be moved.

And remember. If you’re looking to take a new character, check the wanted characters forum and maybe think about an adult or a young-adult! There are many people who would be eternally grateful to you if you do!

Bethanne Bulstrode, bi-racial** pureblood, is fifteen years old, quick-witted, well-mannered, and well-educated. No surprise that when the time came to start Hogwarts she was sorted into Ravenclaw. Her family is well known amongst the pureblood elite, although they have never been the wealthiest nor the most prominent of families. Their peak was almost a decade ago with a rather lucky investment by the head of the Bulstrode family. With promises of more successful business adventures, the Bulstrodes captured the attention of the Black family, in particular Walburga Black. Although it was not uncommon for the Blacks to marry cousins, she was apprehensive in permitting her son and Black heir, Sirius Black, marrying any of the daughters from her brother’s Cygnus’ marriage to Druella (nee Rosier) Black. They had failed to have a son, and Walburga is sure that the fault was hidden in the blood of that French witch.

With a very prestigious name at stake, Walburga formed an agreement with the Bulstrodes. Their children would be playmates, and hopefully friends, and if they happened to get along when older and neither had other prospects, they would be pushed towards the idea of marriage; now whether that push is forceful or not, specifics were never discussed. The agreement seems to have fallen through with what seems the descent of Sirius Black. Walburga has fought off rumors about her son and insists that the Black family still has an heir, thank you very much.

The Bulstrodes have not been foreign to misfortune either. Bad judgment has been their downfall and resulted in bankruptcy. They are making ends meet by secretly selling personal possessions, family heirlooms, and antiques. This has been kept a secret from anyone outside of the Bulstrode family and now, more than ever, they are pushing the matter of Bethanne and Sirius possible engagement. The fate of the family is in Bethanne’s hand and she would do almost anything to save it.

Things would be easier if she actually liked the one Sirius Black. There is nothing to like about him; not his stupid floppy hair, or his stupid contrasting eyes. Not that stupid ‘I’m-so-satisfied-with-myself’ smirk nor that stupid recklessness. He was clever, sure, compared to a five year old but at least he could keep up with her scathing remarks three out of six times. He was tall, sure, but so were buildings and lamp posts. He was good looking and charming, sure, but so was she. It was a hassle having to pretend she held any genuine interest in him but he was a means to an end, and maybe, just maybe, they could both come to an agreement they both were happy with.

BASIC CHARACTERISTICS:

• Bethanne is a lady through and through. You won’t find any uncouth behavior from her part.
• She thinks her greatest charm is her intelligence but knows when to showcase it and when to town it down; depending on the company she’s keeping
• Although she finds Sirius Black to be handsome, she thinks he’s lacking substance
• Quick to judge, she usually has false impressions of those she first meets
• Her favorite sport is antagonizing Sirius Black—or it used to be before her little family secret appeared.
• Confident, Bethanne thinks very highly of herself and criticizes her peers in running internal monologues.
• Scathing remarks, sarcasm, and being able to insult and praise you with a smile are part of Bethanne’s weaponry against what Sirius Black calls his ‘charms’
• Call her Miss Sassy, she’s a spitfire when she needs to be and doesn’t hesitate putting people in their place, especially the misbehaving and sometimes sexually forward male species.

NOTE: **A note on Bethanne’s biracial characteristic. I noticed I wasn’t specific but she’s half-asian. Her Mother is Asian and Bethanne DOES have Asian characteristics. Now, I’m not saying you have to use the suggested playby (the word ‘suggested’ alone makes it obvious) and I’m not saying you need to pick a play-by that is clearly Asian, but there has to be Asian characteristics of some sort—everything else up to you.

Regulus Black is the epitome of a well-behaved, perfect pure-blooded son. He does as his parents say, and always meets their expectations. After all, their way of thinking is the right one, isn’t it? He used to be timid and shy but has been breaking out of his shell thanks to the influence of his peers. Although he still holds certain feelings of resentment and abandonment towards his older brother, SIRIUS  BLACK, they are starting to dissipate since the last talk they had about Sirius’ departure from Grimmauld Place. Regulus is under the impression that he can convince Sirius to come back home if only he could get their mother, Walburga Black to agree and to tone down her oppressive nature. When Regulus isn’t spending time with his fellow male peers, he spends his time with his cousins Bellatrix and Narcissa Black. Sharing the same age with Narcissa has allowed them to be close; in a way they can be called best friends. Lately he’s been receiving what he considers to be weird suggestions from his parents regarding Narcissa and his relationship. Although he adores Narcissa, and once had an innocent childhood crush on her, he’s not certain he feels that way about her presently. He’s always done as his parents have told them, and he has no intentions of disobeying him but a relationship other than ‘cousin’ with Narcissa may just be what breaks him. He doesn’t think about it often and merely humors his clinically insane Mother when she brings up the subject. Spending more time with her hardly qualifies as a bad time and, after all, he’s certainly not Narcissa’s last option when it comes to a suitable match. He’ll cross that bridge when he gets there.

BASIC CHARACTERISTICS:

• Although he can appear quiet and introverted, he is sharp as a tack and possesses a lot of wit that not everyone gets to see.
• Extremely family oriented
• Once idolized his brother but due to Sirius ‘bad choices’ their relationship has become strained. Both are trying to currently patch things up.
• Believes in honor, blood purity, and nobility; gets along well with most in his family’s social circle.
• Not overtly romantic but is open to the idea.
• Would choose the company of adults if it was up to him but settles for the more intelligent of his age group to socialize with.
• Skilled duelist and potioneer; not to mention at Quidditch.
• Self-conscious
• He understands that duty comes before anything
• Good friends with Rabastan Lestrange
• He is quite protective of his cousins: Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa even if he knows the first two hardly need it.
• Eager to join the ranks of the Knights of Walpurgis once he turns of age**
